Health Sciences- B.A.S.


The Bachelor of Arts (BAS) in Health Sciences is a unique program for individuals who have completed an AAS degree in a health science field, providing a degree completion pathway for a bachelor’s degree in the health sciences.  The BAS in Health Sciences strengthens problem solving, communication, project management, and critical thinking skills through a variety of discipline areas complementary to and supporting the health sciences.  The Health Sciences core focuses on contemporary health and wellness content and leadership development and provides options for further study across a number of associated health science areas. This degree allows transfer of 64 credits from an earned AAS degree in health and requires completion of at least 60 credit hours in foundation requirements; modified area studies and seminar requirements in general education; and the health sciences major at Domincan University.  Individuals should meet with an advisor in the Health, Wellness, and Medical Studies department for individualized planning for the BAS degree in Health Sciences. 

Students entering the program must have earned:

  1. An Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in a health science associated program from an accredited program; and
  2. A minimum 2.75 grade point average.​

Course eligible for transfer credit require grades of C- or higher.
