HIST 223 - Changing America: The Gilded Age Through the New Deal

3 Credit Hours
This course covers the tremendous social, economic, and political change in the United States between 1880 and 1940. Focusing on the Progressive movement, the cultural divisions of the 1920s and the Depression, students will examine these periods through in-depth analysis of Hull House, the World’s Fair of 1893, the rise of the Ku Klux Klan and the Great Migration, and the impact New Deal programs had on everyday Americans. This course may be applied to the United States history concentration.

Prerequisite(s): ENGL 101  or CRWS 101  

This course will satisfy the core area requirement in history.
