This 36-credit graduate degree prepares students for a career as a Registered Dietitian, focusing on the areas of public health/community nutrition or clinical nutrition. The program fulfills the requirements for a master’s degree in nutrition and the supervised practice requirements to sit for the Registered Dietitian Examination administered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration. The supervised practice includes an emphasis on multicultural community nutrition, with 1200 hours of field experience divided between community, clinical, food management, and specialty rotations. Upon completion, students receive a Verification Statement for application to take the RD Exam. To qualify for admission, students must have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree or post-baccalaureate certificate in Nutrition and Dietetics, 3.0 GPA, acceptable GRE score, and 3 letters of recommendation.
Dominican University undergraduates and the post-baccalaureate Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND) certificate students may apply for admission during the spring of their senior year or their last semester of their program.
