CHEM 120 - General Chemistry I 3 Credit Hours 1 Lab Hours Semesters Offered Fall, SpringFundamental principles of chemistry, including atomic theory, stoichiometry, classification of reactions, states of matter, bonding theory, and molecular shape. Intended primarily for science majors and post-baccalaureate pre-medical certification students. Includes lecture (3 hours) and laboratory (1 hour). Students in degree programs who have not already completed the laboratory must take the lecture and laboratory concurrently; laboratory requires concurrent enrollment in the lecture.
Prerequisite(s): Prerequisite(s): One year of high school chemistry or CHEM 101 with a grade of C- or higher; MATH 130 or placement into Math 250 or MATH 261.
This course will satisfy the core area requirement in Science Literacy
