SOC 205 - Introduction to Latinx Studies 3 Credit Hours An examination of the contemporary experiences of different United States-based Latino groups focusing on regional, national and global processes. Using a critical race paradigm, ethnic and racial categorizations and understandings are examined and deconstructed. Latino/a cultures based in the United States are framed within the wider U.S. social, cultural and political institutions. This course will utilize intersectional analysis to focus on communities, politics, policies, identities, immigration, economics, language, religion, gender, and sexuality.
