LIS 845 - Data Librarianship 3 hours Data is an emerging specialization for librarians and other information professionals. Libraries and other information-centric organizations are increasing their investment in data resources to support innovation in business and research in the humanities, the social sciences, and the sciences. As information management and organization experts, librarians are well positioned to provide an interdisciplinary perspective to data science. This course will provide an overview of the topics central to data in the research enterprise including data reference, data transformation, data management, data collections, data visualization, data research methodologies, and metadata requirements.
