ENGL 466 - Independent Project Design 3 hours This course prepares the student to complete and present in a significant scholarly and/or creative project (e.g., creative portfolio, creation of a curriculum guide, or research project) in the spring semester. It will also address professionalization; for example, students will complete assignments (e.g., letter of intent, CV/resume) that link their education and project with professional plans after graduation. Students will demonstrate accomplishment in adapting oral and written communication strategies to different contexts, purposes, and audiences; recognizing professional standards and expectations; recognizing the value of literary and language study in meeting the needs of diverse professions and communities; applying critical theories, methods, and concepts to interpretations of texts; and synthesizing primary and secondary sources in order to produce informed and insightful interpretations. Prerequisite(s): ENGL 266 and ENGL 268
