Students may pursue a graduate certificate in Conflict Resolution (12 hours) alone, or pursue the degree after completion of the certificate. The Mediation Skills Training MCR 601 course is required for the certificate, followed by any 3 additional MCR courses of the student’s choice.
If an undergraduate student from the BPS program wishes to pursue an MMCR certificate in Conflict Resolution, at least two MMCR courses must be taken at the graduate level once accepted as a non-degree seeking student if two courses were previously taken at the undergraduate level.
A MTIL student/graduate interested in earning the MMCR certificate must take at minimum 2 courses from the MMCR offerings as a certificate student since the maximum in transfer to another graduate program is two courses) . Additionally, an MMCR student coming back to earn a MTIL degree can use a maximum of two MMCR courses as electives for the second degree and therefore will have to take additional courses to complete their electives (usually 2).
Transfer credit is not accepted when earning an MMCR certificate.
