Two tracks are available: neurobiology, focusing on cellular and molecular aspects of neural function, and behavioral neuroscience, focusing on the relationships between brain and behavior. Due to overlap in course content, it is not possible to combine the behavioral neuroscience track with a psychology major or minor. Similarly, it is also not possible to combine the neurobiology track with majors or minors in biology or natural science. Other than these two restrictions, the neuroscience track can be combined with any other major or minor (subject to the Dominican-wide rule that second majors must have at least 15 distinct credits from first majors).

Cognate courses include all upper-level neuroscience courses as well as approved courses from other departments that present material relevant to neuroscience. Students may petition for a course to count as a cognate based on its relevance to the field of neuroscience. Classes required in your track of the major (listed above) do not also double-count as a cognate.
