Training and Development - B.P.S.


The Bachelor of Professional Studies in Training and Development concentrates on the methods of developing professional skills for individuals and organizations. The degree combines adult learning theory with organizational development so program graduates can help other professionals grow with their organizations. Consistent with Dominican University’s longstanding commitment to social justice, students are required to complete a course in professional ethics on top of at least one ethics unit in each class. Courses are conveniently offered in the evenings at Triton College or online in an accelerated 8-week format.

 

Graduates of the program will be prepared for careers in adult education, corporate training and human resources. Job opportunities for program graduates include adult basic educator, corporate trainer and instructional coordinator. In addition, the rigorous foundation coursework will prepare students for graduate or professional school.

 

  • Each academic year consists of six 8-week sessions
  • Most classes are offered in an 8-week format
  • Transfer credit of up to 68 semester credit hours from community colleges or up to 90 semester credit hours from a combination of community colleges and 4-year colleges or universities may be granted.

In addition to satisfying the proficiency and general education requirements for the Bachelor of Professional Studies, students must complete 42 credits in the major and related areas.
