The Bachelor of Professional Studies in Labor Relations explores the social, historical and legal framework for collective bargaining in the United States. Building upon this framework, students will develop their advocacy and conflict resolution skills to become labor relations leaders. Consistent with Dominican University’s longstanding commitment to social justice, students are required to complete a course in professional ethics on top of at least one ethics unit in each class. Courses are conveniently offered in the evenings at Triton College or online in an accelerated 8-week format.
Graduates of the program will be prepared to work in labor organizations, human resources, mediation or employment law. Job opportunities for program graduates include union organizer, labor relations specialist, recruiter and human resources generalist. In addition, the rigorous foundation coursework will prepare students for graduate or professional school.
