Health, Wellness and Medical Studies

The Bachelor of Science (BS) in Health and Wellness is designed for students interested in gaining knowledge and skills in the areas of health, fitness and wellness.  The major is targeted for those seeking careers in promoting public health, and in helping individuals increase their overall wellbeing. The major provides the necessary background for students to succeed in the dissemination of preventative healthcare and wellness practices including nutrition and fitness, as well as to plan and deliver proactive health and wellness programming within communities and work environments. Students gain knowledge and skill in understanding and advocating for health and wellness policies, practices, and environments. Students apply health and wellness program assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, and advocate for health and wellness in a capstone Internship experience.
