LIS 769 - Research Methods

An introduction to the philosophies of social science research, particularly research techniques commonly employed in library and information science. It gives a general introduction to basic research concepts; principles of research design; measurement, and qualitative and elementary quantitative data collection analysis techniques. The course explores offline and online research methods. Students critique published research papers and work in groups to carry out a research project. Offered in spring.
