INF 356 - User Studies3 hours This course explores humans-as-users and their relationships with technology, both analog and digital, by investigating historical and modern-day examples. Students will examine how users employ, modify, design, reconfigure, and resist technology, especially information technology, in an information society. This class considers issues such as human agency, how technologies are actually used, what technologies do to humans, and who defines a user, among other things. Learning experiences in this course will employ scholarly and popular literature to drive discussions.
Prerequisite(s): INF 110 and INF 120
