EDUC 379 - Methods and Materials for Teaching Fine Arts and Music in the Elementary Classroom

Appropriate content, methods, and materials for teaching art, dance, music, and drama as part of an integrated curriculum in elementary classrooms are the foundation for this course. Lesson planning, classroom management of activities/materials, creative expression, aesthetic perception, integrating fine arts with other content areas are addressed. Clinically-based course taught on-site in a partner elementary school. 8 hours of fieldwork required.

Prerequisite(s): Admission to the Teacher Education Program; junior standing or above.
