CAS 222 - Mass Media and Society3 hours An examination of the production, construction, and consumption of mass media in American society and the role that media forms and representations play in the production and reproduction of systems of inequality, culture, and ideology; emphasis on the critical/cultural analysis of the ways in which class, race, ethnicity, gender, age, and sexuality are shaped, reshaped, and represented in popular culture and media. RC
