ARTH 295 - Pre-Columbian Art3 hours This course provides an overview of the art and architecture in Mesoamerica and South America from prehistoric times until the Spanish Conquest in the early 1500s. It will include, but not be limited to, discussion of Olmec, Mayan, Toltec, Aztec, and Incan cities, monuments, objects, and cultures. Through the exploration of visual expression, students will learn about the religions, economies, and social and political organization of Pre-Columbian cultures in Mexico and Central and South America.
