SPAN 380 - Peninsular Literature I3 hours This course will study Hispanic literature written in Spain from its origins in medieval times - the 12th century - to the end of what is known as “The Golden Age,” including the Renaissance and the Baroque in Spanish letters. These readings will cover all literary genres and will focus both on the artistic value of the works and on their reflection of the cultural and sociopolitical reality of their respective periods.
Prerequisite(s): SPAN 320 or consent of instructor.
This course will satisfy the literature core area requirement.
