SUS 299 - CBL and Capstone 1 Credit Hours
This independent study course requires a minimum of 30 hours of volunteer service in a community or campus green space, arranged in consultation with the minor’s advisor. Students may be eligible to opt out of this part of the course requirement if their CP (career practicum) credit is fulfilled through relevant equivalent documented experience or prior community-based learning experiences. Students will complete assignments that integrate academic and hands-on experiences with systems thinking in sustainability, emphasizing the interdependence of ecological, social, and economic systems. Through readings, discussion, and reflection, they will deepen their awareness as changemakers and build the capacity for critical, forward-thinking analysis of sustainability challenges.
