ENGL 315 - Texts and Contexts Post-1600 4 Credit Hours An in-depth study in the art of literary interpretation focusing on literature after 1600. Students develop skills in close reading; analysis of the social, cultural, historical, and political contexts in which texts are written and read; and an ability to write critically about the interplay between text and context. Students may take the course number up to three times and concurrently as allowed for with each independent course description. When the specific course is not allowed for repeat credit, such will be indicated in the description.
Prerequisite(s): CRWS 101 or CRWS 105 or admission to the honors program.
This course will satisfy the core area requirement in Meaning, Value, and Truth tagged requirement.
This course will satisfy the core requirement in Advanced CRWS tagged requirement.
