HNBQ 272 - Aristotle and Dante in Conversation

3 Credit Hours
Aristotle’s Nicomachean Ethics describes the concepts of virtue, friendship, and happiness. The Italian Middle Ages, as an era of transition to the economic and cultural prosperity of the Italian Renaissance, provides the arena for Dante’s poem, Inferno, whose figures learn the power of self-reflection. This course will study the conversation between these two major works while students engage in similar discourse as we work together to understand the beauty of love and fellowship.

Prerequisite(s): Admission to the honors program.
