ENGL 111 - Introductory Studies in Creative Writing 4 (parent course) Credit Hours
Study of the fundamentals of good writing in a variety of literary genres - poetry, fiction, drama. Analysis of the work of professionals and students. Short critical and creative pieces in multiple genres are required. Either this course (or the child course ENGL 211) is required for students electing the writing concentration.

Prerequisite(s): May not be taken by student who have completed ENGL 211 . Open only to students with freshman standing, or consent of instructor.
This course will satisfy the core area requirement in literature or humanities and arts.
