EDUC 332 - Cognition, Learning, and Assessment 3 Credit Hours Candidates explore issues of cognition, development, learning, and assessment through neuro and cognitive science. In this course, candidates examine how children and adolescents learn, how they are impacted by community and cultural assets, how to assess learning and its outcomes, and how to use assessment to inform teaching and motivate students to learn. A particular focus is placed on developmental characteristics and learning/brain theory in relation to student self-regulation, classroom management, and assessment for learning. May not be taken by students who have completed EDUC 320.
This course will satisfy the core area requirement in science literacy.
