FIN 321 - Data Analytics: Financial Strategies and Applications 3 Credit Hours This course underscores the pivotal role of data analytics in evaluating and guiding financial strategies that can significantly impact organizations. It builds upon topics introduced in Corporate Finance and explores the strategic decisions financial managers face. A broad array of topics will be discussed including discounted cash flow analysis, mergers, acquisitions, firm valuation, the process of going public, corporate control, shareholder activism, and financial forecasting. Students will understand the why, when, and how of employing analytics to make informed decisions. Emphasizing hands-on learning, the course includes case studies, real world applications, and makes use of current data analytics software to help students prepare for analytical careers in business.
Students are strongly encouraged to complete QUAN 201 before enrolling in this course.
Prerequisite(s): FIN 301
This course will satisfy the core requirement in technological and information literacy.
