LLAS 204 - Introduction to Latin American Studies

3 Credit Hours
This is an interdisciplinary course focuses on the histories and societies of the peoples of the Caribbean, Central America, Mexico, Puerto Rico and South America. Utilizing wide-ranging perspectives that analyze gendered and racialized cultural, economic, political and social realities, both past and present, students will examine the multiple roots of the people of Latin America, including Indigenous communities, Africa, Asia and Europe.

This course will satisfy the core area requirement in social justice and sustainability.

This course will satisfy the core requirement in multicultural studies.
