FASH 360 - History of Global Dress and Fashion 3 Credit Hours
Survey of global dress and fashion from ancient civilizations through the 19th century, with emphasis on dress and fashion in art and as an expression of social, cultural, and aesthetic change around the world. The course emphasizes critical analysis of museum practices and decentering of Western perspectives.
With an intensification option, this course will contribute to the medieval and Renaissance studies minor .
This course will satisfy the core area requirement in fine arts or social justice and sustainability.
