ACCT 411 - Accounting Information Systems 3 Credit Hours This course provides an in-depth study of the application of information systems knowledge to the accounting environment and introduces students to the systems that underlie bookkeeping, accounting, financial reporting, tax reporting, and auditing in all business firms. Such systems are increasingly complex and in a continual state of flux due to rapidly changing technologies and security risks. Emphasis is upon developing students’ abilities to understand the processing of accounting data (with an emphasis on the computer environment) and the controls that are necessary to assure accuracy and reliability of the data processed by the accounting system. Students are encouraged to complete ACCT 311 before enrolling in this course.
