CHS 140 - Basic Nurse Assistant Training (BNAT)

4 Credit Hours
The Basic Nurse Assistant Training (BNAT) curriculum offers a basic study of principles and procedures used by the nurse assistant in hospitals, long term care facilities, home health settings and rehabilitation facilities.  The course focuses on basic human needs and nursing care of the adult populations.  Integration of basic nursing skills and concepts is acquired through hands-on clinical experience at local health care facilities. This course is approved by the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH).  Students who successfully complete the program will be eligible to take the Illinois Nurses’ Aide Competency exam.  Students cleared on the criminal background check will be entered on the State of Illinois Health Care Worker Registry. This is a 16 week course and will fulfill an elective requirement.
