SOC 350 - Gender and Development 3 Credit Hours An examination of the changing roles, statuses, opportunities, and options of women living in developing countries in the Global South. Consideration will be given to the different ways social institutions such as gender, race, ethnicity, class, age, sexuality, religion, and culture shape the lives of women around the world. Students will search for similarities and differences among and between diverse communities of women and themselves.

This course will satisfy the core area requirement in multicultural studies.
