POSC 140 - International Relations

3 Credit Hours
This course provides an introduction to the study of international relations (IR). The course will examine the evolution of the international state system and how countries interact with each other through war, peace, trade, human rights, and other means of competition or cooperation. This course will introduce students to the dominant IR theoretical frameworks - Realism, Liberalism, Marxism, Constructivism, and Feminism - and how they seek different ways to explain the nature and dynamics of state behavior. May not be repeated for credit by students who have completed.

This course will satisfy the core area requirement in social sciences.
