SPEA 534 - Providing Diverse Learners Access to the General Education Curriculum 3 Credit Hours In this course, candidates will study processes of collaboration, adaptation, and modification for students with exceptionalities in the general education classroom. Candidates will examine the importance and process of collaboration with family, classroom teachers, paraeducators, paraprofessionals, and other school and community personnel in integrating individuals with disabilities into various social and learning environments. Candidates will study how the learning environment and classroom demands can be adapted and modified to support characteristics of diverse learners. Candidates will investigate techniques for selecting appropriate strategies and curricular materials, examine ways to modify instructional methods and assessments, and consider ways to integrate inclusive learning and behavioral intervention supports.
