ECEA 542 - Instructional Methods in Curriculum and Organization (Creative Arts) 3 Credit Hours In this course, candidates focus on the developmentally appropriate instructional materials and methods for teaching the academic disciplines of the creative and expressive arts in diverse and inclusive pre-primary and primary early childhood settings, (birth through third grade). Areas such as music, movement, play, storytelling, creative writing, poetry, and art are covered. Using content area knowledge and appropriate state and national learning standards, candidates examine procedures for designing, planning, organizing and interpreting various instructional strategies, tools, methodologies, and environments that promote the effective learning of the creative and expressive arts. Additionally, candidates explore the selection, adaptation, and use of instructional strategies and materials for children with exceptional learning needs that can be generalized across various learning environments.
