PHIL 232 - Existentialism and Identity 3 Credit Hours Are humans free? Does life have meaning? What does it mean to lead an authentic life? Existentialist philosophers consider questions like these by examining people’s lived experiences. In this class, we will investigate a variety of existentialist thinkers from various backgrounds (Black, Latin American, etc.) to explore personal identity and authenticity, with special attention paid to race and gender.
This course will satisfy the core area requirement in philosophy.
