PAS 505 - The Science of Medicine 2 Credit Hours This course provides an introduction to the basic medical sciences, including the essential facts, concepts, and principles that are important in understanding the fundamental mechanisms of human disease, including medical psychology, nutrition, biochemistry, genetics, immunology, pathology, virology, and microbiology. This course presents the basic methods of clinical problem solving and serves to lay a solid foundation for the clinical medicine course by emphasizing the underlying principles of the etiology, management, and prevention of disease processes.
Areas of study will include: Nutrition, Genetics, Psychology, Biochemistry, Infectious Disease, Virology, Immunology, and Microbiology.
