SWK 686 - Advanced Practice with Older Adults 3 Credit Hours
This seminar is designed to give students more in-depth knowledge and develop advanced practice behaviors to work with older adults in a variety of local and international settings. The course will focus on current and emerging issues in interdisciplinary practice, and will cover clinical as well as administrative topics. Topics include: DSM diagnosis and treatment issues, alternative models to retirement communities, older adults’ sexuality, emerging issues in palliative care, death and dying, the impact of technology on home care, and management and administration of services and programs for older adults.
