SWK 612 - Practice Evaluation

3 Credit Hours
This advanced-level research course focuses on the application of single systems design, qualitative methodologies, and mixed methodologies to evaluate social work practice with individuals, families, groups, organizations, and/or communities. The focus of this course is on the use of a strength-based and empowerment approach to engaging, assessing, and developing an intervention that is consistent with social work theories, client values, evidence-based practices, and ethical research practices.  Another focus of the course is on the measurement and monitoring of the outcomes of the intervention while addressing ongoing client needs, cultural and contextual issues, and issues of sustainability. The course also focuses on the application of these research methodologies to global social problems.
