POSC 367 - International Security and Conflict Resolution 3 Credit Hours This course examines fundamental questions and debates around international war and peace through an examination of contemporary international security issues. The course takes an interdisciplinary perspective to examine the causes of war and the paths to peace. It draws on international relations theory as well as the fields of political psychology, peace studies, gender studies, and economics to study the character, origins, and consequences of conflict. Historical and contemporary case studies will be explored on a range of topics including civil wars, terrorism, nuclear weapons, alliances, climate change, human security, and many more.
This course will satisfy the core area requirement in social sciences.
