POSC 262 - Politics and Film 3 Credit Hours This course explores the relationship between politics and film/movies. In particular, this course examines how politics and popular culture mirror and/or impact each other in ways such as agenda setting, advocating/communicating policies, and political socialization. The course will examine the historical and contemporary nature of the film industry and its embedded role within modern American/Global politics. The primary goal of the course is to learn how to actively exercise critical thinking while enjoying movies, topics previously covered have been war/peace, genocide, the media in movies, climate change, and Marvel/science fiction.
