HIST 224 - The American Century, 1940-1990

3 Credit Hours
Arguably the United States played a dominant role in global events during the 20th century. From World War II and the decades of Cold War that followed, American culture, economics, and social values reflected a nation whose citizens enjoyed tremendous economic prosperity, witnessed amazing technological advancement, and experienced profound social change. What did these decades mean? How do we understand them in relation to earlier ideas of American destiny? What do they mean in the post-Cold War era? This course may be applied to the United States history concentration.

Prerequisite(s): ENGL 101  or CRWS 101

This course will satisfy the core area requirement in history.
