CRIM 406 - Theories of Crime Control 3 Credit Hours An in-depth analysis of the U.S. prison industrial complex, including analysis of alternative sentencing structures in community-based corrections, theories of incapacitation and deterrence, consideration of surveillance and state disciplinary structures, and strategies for building healthy communities.
Prerequisite(s): SOC 110 , either CRIM 255 or CRIM 265 , and senior standing or consent of instructor.
