ITAL 282 - Machiavelli

1.5 Credit Hours


An exploration of The Prince and The Mandragola. These two seminal works by Machiavelli helped shape Renaissance literature and continue to be relevant today. We will discuss how a treatise and a comedy connect to Florentine politics and society. This course cannot be counted towards the Italian major or minor. Course taught in English. 

 

Prerequisite(s): 15 college credit hours or consent of instructor. 

This course will satisfy the core area requirement in literature if taken with another 1.5 credit course.
