SWK 631 - Health Disparities and Social Determinants of Health 3 Credit Hours This course provides students with the opportunity to gain insights into the challenges that people of color face and low socioeconomic status face that both impact individuals’ health. Additionally, students will learn of the challenges they may have accessing treatment or received equitable treatment. This course provides students with the opportunity to develop a critical theoretical lens by which to analyze the complexities of health disparities and to evaluate, analyze, and make recommendations aimed at reducing health disparities and empowering communities of color.

Prerequisite(s): SWK 513 and SWK 553 or advanced standing.
