MUS 290 - Liturgical Choir 1 Lab Hours This course serves to develop music skills while enriching the contemplative and prayer life of the University community. Students will learn basic music reading, singing technique, and harmonization within a choral ensemble. They will also learn about the liturgical year and music’s role in it, while experiencing a variety of liturgical music styles: polyphony, chant, classical hymnody, contemporary music, folk, and gospel music. Liturgical Choir will provide music for 4 liturgical events throughout the semester. This course can be repeated for credit; this course is graded on a satisfactory/fail basis. All levels are welcome.
Prerequisite(s): Consent of instructor.
