                  SWK 657 - Masters Research Project I Credit Hours 3 This is the first of the two courses resulting in a substantive paper that involves original research and scholarship. The final product of a master’s research project is a thesis or a paper of publishable quality. This course includes the stages of defining a research topic and formulating a problem statement, selecting and reviewing relevant literature and developing a research methodology. At the end of this course, the student is expected to produce a research proposal with a comprehensive literature review, identify a specific research focus, and describe data collection procedures of the study. Following a successful thesis hearing, the student is expected to submit an IRB application.
