EDUC 415 - Linguistics Credit Hours 3 In this course, candidates will undertake the scientific study of language through an analysis of phonetics, phonology, syntax, semantics, and pragmatics. Candidates will also better understand their ELL students’ use and display of sound-letter correspondence, letter-word formation, word patterns, sentence structure, morphology and discourse levels in the English language. The course also focuses on the history of the English language, the role of dialects and linguistic family trees across the globe.
Prerequisite(s): Acceptance into the Teacher Education Program.
