SOC 230 - Sociology of Gender Credit Hours 3 An examination of how the social existence, roles, and identities of women and men are constructed, with an emphasis on the pervasive influence of gender at the individual level as well as in the very organization and working of society. Through this course, students will gain an understanding of the diversity and complexity of gendered experiences in terms of class, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, and age.
