SWK 722 - Military Mental Health Issues Assessment and Diagnosis

Crucial components of crisis intervention, engagement, and assessment of ServiceMembers,Veterans and their Families(SMVF) are investigated. A systems approach is constructed considering the family life disturbances created with specific service related health and mental health issues. Students will learn the process of assessment for physical, emotional, and/or sexual trauma’s effects on mental health in SMVF populations. Diagnosis with common comorbid conditions is examined. This course provides discernment of behavior specific to how SMVF’s symptoms manifest with family, and in mental health, medical, business, and educational settings. This is an 8-week online course.
