HIST 242 - Modern Latin America



This course is a survey of Latin America since the colonial wars for independence (1880s) to the present. It will examine general trends in the region’s quest for political stability and economic prosperity while highlighting differences in each country’s national culture. (3 hours)

Prerequisite(s): ENGL 102  or departmental consent.

This course will satisfy the history core area and multicultural core requirements.
