THEO 369 - Celtic Spirituality
This course will explore 1) the formative period of Celtic spirituality in Britain, Ireland, Scotland, and the European mainland, especially in the lives of the saints, 2) the impact of Celtic Christianity on both Roman Catholic and Protestant churches before, during and after the Reformation, and 3) the influences on and potential of Celtic spirituality in the modern period and today, particularly in regard to issues of social justice, the role of women in the church, and environmental redemption. (3 hours)
Prerequisite(s): Sophomore standing or consent of instructor.
