THEA 284 - Solo Performance
Students will write, interpret, perform, and stage a variety of works in a variety of performance spaces. They will develop analytical skills by using a dramatistic approach in the evaluation of performance material—prose, poetry and drama. Prominent contemporary solo performers will also be studied: John Leguizamo, Lily Tomlin, Laurie Anderson, Spalding Gray, Anna Deavere Smith, and others. Students will design and execute a final, public, solo performance. (3 hours)
This course will satisfy the fine arts core area requirement.
